Union Minister G. Kishan Reddy strongly condemned the alleged illegal arrests of BJP leaders and workers during the party’s “Chalo Assembly” protest against the Congress government in Telangana. He stated that the detention of senior leaders, including State BJP President N. Ramchander Rao, reflects the growing insecurity within the ruling government. He criticized the administration for attempting to curb democratic rights and suppress opposition voices raising public issues.
Kishan Reddy further questioned whether Telangana is being governed democratically or through police force. He termed the arrests of BJP leaders, who were heading for a peaceful protest, as undemocratic. He alleged that the Congress government is trying to divert attention from unfulfilled promises, including the six guarantees made to the public. Accusing the Revanth Reddy-led government of corruption and misgovernance, he asserted that BJP’s fight will continue until such governance is brought to an end, adding that this is only the beginning of a larger movement.
