Telangana Government to Hold All-Party Meeting on El Niño Impact

The Telangana government will hold an all-party meeting on October 28 to discuss the potential impact of El Niño and the drought-like conditions in the state. The meeting will be chaired by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and is scheduled to begin at 2:30 PM on Wednesday at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat in Hyderabad. The meeting will take place in Room No. 33 on the sixth floor of the Secretariat. Discussions will focus on the impact of El Niño, rainfall deficits, and the prevailing drought situation, along with measures that can be taken to address the challenges facing the state.

The government will seek suggestions and recommendations from representatives of various political parties on reducing the impact of drought conditions. Key issues expected to be discussed include drinking water supply, conservation of water resources, and electricity supply for irrigation. Leaders will also be invited to share their views on alternative cropping plans and drought-prevention measures to support farmers and reduce the effects of water shortages. Through the all-party meeting, the government aims to gather ideas from across the political spectrum and seek cooperation from all parties to tackle drought-related challenges effectively.
