Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy inaugurated BioAsia 2026 at HITEX, Hyderabad, and outlined Telangana’s ambitious vision to transform the state into a global life sciences powerhouse. Welcoming delegates from across the world, he said that when BioAsia was launched 23 years ago, Hyderabad was known for Charminar, biryani, pharmaceuticals, and software. Today, the city has evolved into the world’s vaccine manufacturing capital. Backed by visionary leadership, clear policies, skilled human resources, and premier institutions, Hyderabad has emerged as a preferred destination for Global Capability Centers, research, and design excellence. In the past two years alone, the life sciences sector attracted investments exceeding Rs 73,000 crore. The Chief Minister highlighted the announcement of the new Life Sciences Policy in Davos, the expansion of Genome Valley, the launch of One Bio for world class research and innovation, and the acceleration of the Green Pharma City project.
He expressed confidence that BioAsia would gain global recognition on par with the World Economic Forum at Davos. Over 4,000 delegates representing 500 leading global organizations from pharma, biosciences, biotech, bulk drugs, vaccines, and healthcare sectors participated in the summit. Sharing the Telangana Rising 2047 vision, the Chief Minister said the state aims to become a one trillion dollar economy by 2034 and a three trillion dollar economy by 2047. He invited global investors to establish GCCs and innovation centers in Hyderabad, emphasizing strong collaboration among research institutions, corporates, startups, MSMEs, and the government. Industries and Commerce Minister Sridhar Babu was also present at the event. The Chief Minister later visited stalls set up by domestic and international companies at HITEX, reaffirming that Telangana is ready for the world and open for business.
