In the context of the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, CPI leader C. Narayana strongly criticized Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu for campaigning on behalf of the NDA alliance. He remarked that Chandrababu Naidu is likely to face adverse political conditions in Tamil Nadu.
Narayana alleged that during the tenure of late Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa, when a resolution was brought to close Telugu-language schools, Chandrababu Naidu did not respond in support of the Telugu-speaking people in the state. He criticized that it is inappropriate for Chandrababu to now campaign for the NDA after previously ignoring the concerns of Telugu people. He also recalled that then MLA Ramachandran had strongly opposed the closure of Telugu schools and ensured the resolution was withdrawn. Narayana expressed confidence that in the upcoming Assembly elections, the alliance led by M.K. Stalin comprising DMK, Congress and Communist parties would emerge victorious.
