Munugode MLA Komatireddy Raj Gopal Reddy has criticised the Congress government, alleging that the party failed to fulfil its promise of eliminating belt shops despite including the issue in its election manifesto. On Sunday, he inaugurated the new building of the Beerappa Sheep Rearers Cooperative Society at Gattuppal mandal headquarters in Nalgonda district. Speaking on the occasion, he alleged that government work across the state, from village panchayat secretaries to the Chief Secretary, was not being carried out without money. He also criticised the previous BRS government, claiming that it had failed to prepare proper plans for irrigation projects.
Earlier, the MLA reportedly expressed strong displeasure with a local Sub-Inspector over the alleged failure to curb unauthorised liquor outlets in Chandoor mandal. He reportedly spoke to the police officer over the phone and questioned the lack of action against such establishments. Raj Gopal Reddy’s remarks on belt shops, alleged corruption in government offices and irrigation project planning have drawn attention in the state’s political circles.
