BJP heads towards majority in West Bengal

A major political shift appears to be underway in West Bengal as the latest trends from the 2026 Assembly election results show the Bharatiya Janata Party moving close to forming the government. After a long period, the state is witnessing a possible change in power.

Out of 294 seats, the BJP has reached the majority mark with around 148 seats. The Trinamool Congress is trailing with about 110 seats, while the Left and Congress have failed to secure any significant presence. Others have managed to win only a marginal number of seats.
