Union Minister Pemmasani Chandrasekhar stated that Andhra Pradesh has emerged as the third-highest recipient of Central funds in the country. Speaking to the media in New Delhi, he said the state has secured substantial financial support despite its relatively smaller population. He revealed that Andhra Pradesh received ₹7,700 crore under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS), reflecting the Centre’s commitment to supporting the state's development.
The minister also said that the construction of Central Government buildings in Amaravati may take up to three years to complete. While the Andhra Pradesh government has provided the land, the entire construction cost will be borne by the Centre, he clarified. Pemmasani emphasized that the Amaravati Bill, Central Secretariat project, and Outer Ring Road are crucial for the state's future growth. He added that several key decisions regarding these projects were taken in consultation with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu.
