Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Sunday expressed confidence that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will come to power with a massive majority in Tamil Nadu and West Bengal. Addressing a public meeting in Pudukkottai as part of his two-day visit, Shah said the time had come to put an end to family rule in Tamil Nadu. He alleged that the ruling Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) was prioritising dynastic politics over public welfare, targeting Chief Minister M. K. Stalin and accusing the party of grooming Udhayanidhi Stalin as the next chief minister.
Amit Shah also criticised the DMK government over law and order, alleging that women’s safety is not guaranteed in the state. Earlier in the day, Shah arrived at Tiruchirappalli Airport, where he was received by senior BJP leaders, including Union Minister L. Murugan, and party workers. With the 2026 Assembly elections approaching, Shah held meetings with BJP office-bearers and senior leaders to discuss organisational strengthening and future strategies, energising the party cadre across the state.
