The SIT investigation into the use of adulterated ghee in the preparation of the sacred Tirumala laddu has intensified. After questioning several former and current TTD officials, the probe team has now shifted its focus to former chairman YV Subba Reddy. Based on various details uncovered during the inquiry, SIT officials are questioning him to clarify several key points.
On Thursday, the SIT team visited Subba Reddy’s residence in Hyderabad to conduct the interrogation. The officers began questioning in the morning, paused for a lunch break, and then resumed the inquiry in the afternoon. The SIT has already collected statements from his PA Chinna Appanna, former EO AV Dharma Reddy, and several other senior officials. These statements are now being placed before Subba Reddy as the investigators seek explanations.
The SIT has also brought several important documents to Hyderabad as part of the investigation. By comparing these documents with statements given earlier by other officials, the team is confronting Subba Reddy with specific questions. As he reportedly remained silent on a few queries, the SIT is presenting documents and recorded statements directly to elicit clear responses.
With these developments, the investigation into the adulterated ghee used in the preparation of the Tirumala laddu appears to have entered a crucial phase.
