The government has decided to distribute three months’ worth of ration rice at once to beneficiaries in view of the summer season. In Maheshwaram constituency’s Balapur mandal, officials and dealers are preparing for the supply of fine rice through ration shops in villages including Almasguda, Gurramguda, Nadergul, Badangpet, Jalpalli, Mamidipalli, Balapur, Kurmalguda, and Venkatapur. Dealers have already been instructed to collect the required rice stocks at their shops, and the distribution will continue from April 1 until the end of the month.
Currently, beneficiaries receive 6 kg of rice per person per month. With a family of four, this amounts to 24 kg monthly. During April, each beneficiary will receive 18 kg at once for three months, totaling 72 kg for a four-member family. Due to the three-time e-POS authentication for each beneficiary, the distribution process may take longer. Authorities have urged beneficiaries to cooperate. Balapur mandal has 35,487 rice beneficiaries, and a total of 2,324.226 metric tonnes of rice will be distributed to cover the three-month requirement.
