

Japan-based JFE Steel Corporation has invested ₹7,875 crore to acquire a 25% stake in JSW Kalinga Steel, according to JSW Steel. In the first phase, JSW Steel allotted 22,694,524 shares of JSW Kalinga Steel Limited to JFE Steel, enabling the Japanese firm to secure a 25% equity stake. The development was disclosed in an official filing to stock exchanges, marking a significant milestone in the strategic partnership between the two companies.
Under the recently signed Joint Venture Agreement (JVA), JSW Steel and JFE Steel will jointly control JSW Kalinga Steel and its wholly owned subsidiary, JSW Sambalpur Steel. This collaboration is expected to strengthen production capabilities, enhance technological integration, and boost the overall growth of the steel sector through global expertise and investment.
