

The Telangana State Government has officially released the list of general and optional holidays for the year 2026. According to the notification issued by Chief Secretary Ramakrishna Rao, the year will have 27 general holidays and 26 optional holidays, applicable to all government offices across the state.
The list of general holidays includes major festivals and national observances such as Bhogi, Sankranti, Republic Day, Maha Shivaratri, Holi, Ugadi, Ramzan, Sri Rama Navami, Good Friday, Ambedkar Jayanti, Bakrid, Muharram, Bonalu, Independence Day, Eid Milad-un-Nabi, Krishna Ashtami, Vinayaka Chavithi, Gandhi Jayanti, Saddula Bathukamma, Vijayadashami, Deepavali, Kartheeka Pournami, and Christmas. The government has also declared the day after Ramzan, Vijayadashami, and Christmas as general holidays.
