Chief Minister Revanth Reddy stated that Telangana is at the forefront of the aerospace sector within the country. He mentioned that the government is formulating policies with the ambitious goal of achieving global leadership in this field by 2047. Preparations are currently underway for the launch of 'Vikram-1'—a private orbital rocket developed by Skyroot, a space-tech firm headquartered in Hyderabad. Against this backdrop, the Chief Minister flagged off the shipment of the rocket's components from Hyderabad to Sriharikota.
The Chief Minister remarked that it is a matter of great pride that the entire design and development of the rocket took place right here in Hyderabad. He lauded the company for achieving the capability to launch satellites within a remarkably short span of time, noting that it was a monumental achievement for an organization that conducted its maiden launch as recently as 2022. He further highlighted that Telangana has witnessed significant growth in the export of engineering products, with a particular surge observed in the exports of aircraft components and defense equipment.
The Chief Minister announced that the government is taking special measures to provide skill training to the youth, tailored specifically to meet the requirements of the industry. He stated that initiatives such as the establishment of a Skill University, the creation of advanced technology centers, and the upgradation of polytechnic colleges are currently being undertaken. He also added that a comprehensive plan is being formulated to bring about improvements within the education system as well.
