The management of the Srisailam Sri Bhramaramba Mallikarjuna Swamy Temple, a renowned pilgrimage center, has imposed strict restrictions on other religious prayers, preaching, social media reels, and anti-social activities within the temple premises. Temple Executive Officer Srinivasa Rao warned that such acts are legally punishable and strict action will be taken against violators.
He clarified that conducting direct or indirect religious prayers, campaigns, or distributing pamphlets and books related to other religions within the Srisailam temple limits is strictly prohibited. Any activity that violates temple traditions and regulations will be treated as a legal offense.
The EO also stated that recording videos, flying drones, or promoting personal reels on social media without prior permission from temple authorities is not allowed. Additionally, smoking, consuming alcohol, gambling, and eating non-vegetarian food within the temple premises are considered anti-social and illegal acts.
Those found violating Endowment Department rules or engaging in unlawful activities will face legal consequences. Devotees visiting the temple have been requested to strictly follow the rules and cooperate with the temple administration.
Recently, an incident involving a young woman making reels near the temple premises sparked widespread debate on social media. Many devotees expressed anger, claiming that temple rules were violated and religious sentiments were hurt. Responding to the criticism, the woman stated that she wore traditional attire and did not shoot reels inside the temple premises, and apologized if her actions caused any offense. Following this incident, the EO issued clear instructions to prevent such occurrences in the future.
