Cyberabad CP Sajjanar has urged the public, especially parents and youth, to remain alert while using social media. Referring to a recent case, he explained how criminals create fake lifestyles using images of luxury cars and parties to target minor girls from affluent families. These offenders manipulate victims through online conversations and even gather personal information with the help of local contacts, making the situation highly dangerous.
He warned that negligence by parents in monitoring their children’s online activities can lead to serious consequences. Sharing private information or interacting with unknown individuals may result in blackmail and financial exploitation. Sajjanar emphasized that parents should closely observe their children’s behavior and maintain regular communication. He advised youth not to fall for online temptations and to avoid trusting strangers, stressing that awareness and vigilance are essential to prevent such crimes.
