A moderate earthquake shook parts of Northeast India early on Tuesday morning, creating panic among people. The tremors were felt around 5:59 AM across Manipur, Nagaland, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh. According to reports, the earthquake had a magnitude of 5.2 on the Richter scale.
Scientists identified the epicenter near Kamjong district in Manipur. The earthquake occurred at a depth of about 62 kilometers below the ground. The sudden shaking caused fear among residents, with many people rushing out of their homes for safety.
There are no immediate reports of major damage or casualties so far. However, the tremors were strong enough to alarm people across several states, reminding them of the region’s vulnerability to earthquakes.
