On the occasion of Gita Jayanti, Sri Chilkur Rangarajan, chief priest of Hyderabad’s Chilkur Balaji Temple, was honored with the prestigious Vivekananda Puraskar by Vedashree Tapovan. The award was presented by His Excellency Dr. Acharya Devvrat, Hon’ble Governor of Maharashtra, in the presence of His Holiness Sri Govindadev Giri Swamiji, Treasurer of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teertha Kshetra Trust.
The honour recognises Sri Rangarajan’s exemplary efforts in reviving the ancient Munivahana Utsavam tradition that celebrates equality, devotion beyond caste barriers, and the spiritual elevation of Tiruppan Azhvar, while powerfully reinforcing inclusiveness in modern society. It also salutes his lifelong advocacy for establishing Constitutional Rama Rajya, a governance model rooted in Dharma, justice, compassion, and the protection of cultural-religious freedoms in complete harmony with India’s constitutional ethos. Leaders at the event hailed his work as a vital bridge between eternal spiritual traditions and constitutional values.
