The strike by employees of the Telangana State Road Transport Corporation continues across Telangana after talks with the government failed. Workers began their strike from Tuesday midnight, leading to a major disruption in bus services statewide. Several bus depots witnessed RTC buses remaining idle, while police personnel were deployed to maintain law and order at key locations. The strike has significantly impacted daily commuters who rely heavily on public transport.
In districts such as Peddapalli, around 150 buses remained confined to depots, while protests were staged by workers in Husnabad of Siddipet district. In Mahabubnagar, 112 buses were halted, with officials arranging 16 electric buses to support passengers. Meanwhile, TSRTC Managing Director Nagireddy stated that the government is open to resolving issues in a phased manner and accused certain unions of misleading workers.
