A statewide strike by Telangana State Road Transport Corporation has significantly affected bus services across Telangana. Following the failure of talks with employee unions, buses have been halted from the first shift. While some buses running in the night shift are still on roads, they are expected to stop once they reach their respective depots. In several depots, officials are operating limited services using private drivers to reduce inconvenience to passengers.
Authorities are making efforts to keep essential services running by deploying temporary staff and operating electric and hired buses. Around 2,000 buses are planned to be run with temporary arrangements, and efforts are underway to ensure that at least half of the services remain operational. However, striking drivers and conductors are attempting to block bus operations, leading to tension in several areas.
