A new Common Mobility App is set to transform urban travel in Hyderabad, allowing commuters to use multiple transport services like RTC buses, Metro, MMTS, Ola, and Uber with a single ticket. The app is being developed by the Unified Metropolitan Development Authority, which has invited tenders to appoint a consultant for its development. With this app, passengers can plan their journey from one point to another and choose the most convenient mode of transport, all within a single platform.
The app will provide route suggestions, showing connectivity through Metro, MMTS, and buses, and guiding users on the next available options. After booking and payment within the app, users will receive a QR code that can be used across different transport systems. Additionally, once commuters reach their destination point, they can seamlessly continue their journey using Ola or Uber without separate bookings, as aggregators will be integrated into the platform. The government also plans to integrate services from the existing ‘Mee Ticket’ app, making it a comprehensive travel and ticketing solution.
