Young chess prodigy from Telangana, Praneeth Uppala, showcased his remarkable talent at the Rome International Chess Tournament in Italy. Scoring 8 points out of 9 rounds, he surged ahead of the competition and emerged as the champion. The Indian Grandmaster secured seven wins in the tournament and calmly settled for draws in the remaining two games.
Meanwhile, Martinovic (7 points) and Kapilov Daniyal (7 points) finished in second and third positions respectively. At just 17 years of age, Praneeth is already creating waves on the international chess stage. He is now preparing to compete in several prestigious tournaments scheduled to be held in the Netherlands and Spain in the coming weeks.
