During his visit to Assam, Prime Minister Narendra Modi witnessed a historic development near the Moran Bypass in Dibrugarh. Arriving in an Indian Air Force aircraft, the Prime Minister’s plane successfully landed on a specially developed emergency landing facility built on a national highway stretch. The rare landing on a roadway marked a significant milestone in India’s strategic infrastructure expansion.
The emergency landing facility is the first of its kind in Northeast India, designed to support aircraft operations during emergencies. Officials stated that the infrastructure will enhance rapid deployment capabilities and strengthen national security preparedness in the region. The successful demonstration reflects the Centre’s focus on boosting connectivity and defense readiness in the Northeast.
