Today, during the 18th Rozgar Mela held across India, Prime Minister Narendra Modi handed over appointment letters to 61,000 job seekers. The letters were given virtually to those newly recruited in various central government departments and the event was conducted via video conference from 45 centers nationwide.

According to PM Modi, out of the total appointments, 49,200 are in the Home Ministry and paramilitary forces. A significant number of female constables were recruited, made possible due to multiple welfare measures taken by the government over the past 11 years. BSF women personnel are serving at the borders along the Zero Line and during the Republic Day parade, a female Assistant Commandant will lead the CRPF male contingent.
PM Modi said that the Rozgar Mela demonstrates the government’s commitment to providing job opportunities to the youth. So far, over 1.1 million appointment letters have been distributed through these Melas. Appointments were made across various ministries, including Home Affairs, Health, Financial Services, Higher Education and other departments.
