According to official reports, an Indian national is being arrested every 20 minutes at the United States borders. Data released by the US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) department revealed that 23,830 Indians were taken into custody between January and December 2025 while attempting to cross US borders illegally.
The figures highlight a continuing trend of irregular migration from India. In comparison, 85,119 Indian nationals were apprehended in 2024, indicating a sharp rise during that year. Officials noted that most arrests occurred along the southern border, with migrants attempting entry through unauthorized routes. The issue has drawn attention amid increasing scrutiny of immigration policies and border security measures in the United States.
