

Andhra Pradesh Education, IT and Electronics Minister Nara Lokesh met Capgemini CEO Aiman Ezzat in Visakhapatnam to discuss investment opportunities in the state. During the meeting, Lokesh said that under the leadership of Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, Visakhapatnam is rapidly developing into a major IT and data center hub. He noted that construction of the country’s largest Google data center will begin soon. Companies such as Cognizant and Tata Consultancy Services have already started operations in the city. The Bhogapuram International Airport is also expected to open within the next three months.
Lokesh invited Capgemini to establish a large IT development center in Visakhapatnam capable of creating around 20,000 jobs. He also suggested setting up Global Capability Centers, cloud services and BPM service units in the city. In addition, he asked the company to collaborate with universities in Andhra Pradesh to develop emerging technology labs focusing on AI, cloud computing, cyber security and digital skills. The minister also requested support in developing a dedicated quantum technology vertical and contributing to the growth of the proposed Quantum Valley in the state.
Responding to the proposal, Capgemini CEO Aiman Ezzat said the company was founded in Paris in 1967 and currently employs about 340,000 people worldwide, with nearly 200,000 employees in India alone. The company provides services in strategy, cloud, data and AI, digital engineering, enterprise platforms, managed services and cyber security. Capgemini currently operates from 13 cities in India, including Hyderabad, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Noida, Kolkata, Gurugram and Bhubaneswar. Ezzat said the company would review the proposals made by the Andhra Pradesh government. The meeting was also attended by Capgemini India CEO Sanjay Chacko and WNS Global CEO Keshav Murugesh. Capgemini’s annual revenue is around $23.9 billion.
