Health experts are warning that excessive mobile phone usage at night and prolonged exposure to artificial light can pose significant risks to heart health. Continuous screen exposure disrupts the body’s natural sleep cycle, leading to poor-quality rest and increased strain on the cardiovascular system.
Artificial light interferes with the body clock, causing sleep deprivation and hormonal imbalances involving melatonin and cortisol. This imbalance can elevate stress levels and blood pressure. Normally, blood pressure drops during sleep, but screen exposure prevents this process, placing extra burden on the heart and increasing the risk of hypertension and heart-related diseases over time.
