In a tense political development in Hyderabad, BJP State President N. Ramchander Rao was placed under house arrest at his residence. The move came after the BJP prepared to intensify its protest against the Congress over the alleged obstruction of the Women’s Bill. Party leaders had announced plans to lay siege to the Chief Minister’s residence, prompting police to take preventive measures.
Police officials stopped Ramchander Rao from stepping out of his house, citing law and order concerns. Reacting strongly, he accused the Congress of betraying women’s empowerment and asserted that the BJP would continue its fight. The situation has heightened political tensions in the state, with leaders being restricted to prevent escalation of protests.
