The Telangana government has issued a major reshuffle involving several non-cadre SPs, sparking significant discussion—especially concerning the transfer of Cybercrime DCP Kavitha, who has been leading the investigation into the high-profile iBomma Ravi piracy case.
On Saturday, Special Chief Secretary Vikas Raj released official orders detailing the transfers. Key appointments include:
V. Aravind Babu as Hyderabad CCS DCP
Sudheendra as Hyderabad Task Force DCP
Dara Kavitha as Warangal Central Zone DCP
P. Karunakar, SVN Shivarama, R. Jagadishwar Reddy as Intelligence SPs
YVS Sudheendra as Cyberabad SB DGP
Sai Sri as Cyber Security Bureau SP
M. Ravinder Reddy as Greyhounds Group Commander
N. Ashok Kumar as CID SP
However, it is the transfer of Cybercrime DCP Kavitha that has become the focal point. Kavitha has been spearheading the investigation into the iBomma piracy network, and the case is currently at a crucial stage. Police recently took iBomma Ravi into custody for multiple rounds of interrogation, revealing major details about piracy operations, cryptocurrency transactions, and overseas setups.
With the investigation still ongoing, Kavitha’s sudden transfer has raised eyebrows and triggered discussions about the timing and impact on the case.
