Hyderabad witnessed major income tax raids once again, creating a stir across the city. IT officials conducted simultaneous searches at around 30 locations, targeting the residences and business premises of owners and directors of several top hotel chains. Raids were carried out at the homes and offices linked to Pista House, Shahgouse, and Mehfil, all of which reportedly generate hundreds of crores in annual business.
At Rajendranagar, multiple IT teams searched the residences of Pista House owners Mohammed Majeed and Mohammed Mustan. Authorities reportedly discovered discrepancies between the income shown in records and the actual revenue generated. Suspicions of hawala routes, fake transactions, and benami assets are also being investigated. Searches were extended to the houses and living quarters of the hotel’s employees, and officials seized mobile phones, computers, hard disks, and key financial documents. IT cyber teams are analyzing the digital data recovered during the operation.
Simultaneously, two teams carried out searches at the Mehfil restaurant in Sheikhpet. Officials examined records related to revenue, expenses, and tax filings. With Mehfil operating around 15 branches across Hyderabad, the IT department is closely scrutinizing its financial operations. Initial findings indicate significant differences between recorded income and actual earnings, along with suspicious financial transactions. Over 600 IT officials in 30 teams are actively conducting widespread raids across the city.
