India has recorded an overwhelming presence in global temperature rankings, with 49 out of the world’s 50 hottest cities located within the country, according to real-time data from AQI.in. Odisha’s Balangir and Talcher have topped the list, both registering scorching temperatures of 44°C. Cities from states including Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, West Bengal, Chhattisgarh, and Odisha dominate the rankings, highlighting the intensity of the ongoing heatwave.
The only non-Indian city to feature in the top 50 is Tak in Thailand, which stands at the 27th position. The data underscores the severity of rising temperatures across India, raising concerns over public health, water scarcity, and climate conditions as large parts of the country continue to experience extreme summer heat.
