

In New Delhi, Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy met Union Steel Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy and Minister of State Bhupathiraju Srinivasa Varma, urging the establishment of a Green Steel Plant in Bayyaram. He emphasized that such a project would help reduce steel shortages while promoting environmentally sustainable industrial growth. The proposal is part of the Telangana Rising–2047 vision, which aims to strengthen the state’s industrial ecosystem.
The Chief Minister also proposed setting up a steel recycling unit using scrap from old vehicles, along with a hydrogen-based green steel cluster in Hyderabad. He further requested the establishment of EV battery manufacturing units, machine tools and robotics parks, and industries catering to the automobile and defence sectors. Highlighting Hyderabad’s industrial potential, he sought central support to transform the city into a pollution-free hub by 2034 and to develop national-level skill institutions to meet the demands of advanced industries.
