Advocate Prashant Bhushan on Tuesday criticised Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his recent visit to West Bengal, alleging that the Centre is not giving adequate attention to the ongoing violence in Manipur. In a post on social media platform X, Bhushan remarked that while the prime minister was seen engaging in lighter moments, including eating jhal muri during his Bengal tour, the situation in Manipur continues to remain tense and unresolved.
His comments come amid increasing criticism from opposition parties, including leaders from the Indian National Congress, who have been questioning the Centre’s handling of the Manipur crisis. The northeastern state has been witnessing prolonged unrest, prompting repeated calls from opposition leaders for stronger intervention and a more focused response from the central government.
