

Seventy-eight volunteers who successfully completed the Yuva Aapda Mitra disaster response training programme were awarded certificates by A.V. Ranganath, Commissioner of HYDRAA, on Tuesday.
The week-long training was conducted under the Yuva Aapda Mitra initiative of the National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA). The programme focused on key aspects such as self-protection, rescue operations, first response during natural disasters, fire safety, flood rescue techniques, and basic life-saving skills.
Addressing the volunteers, who were selected from Giriraj Government Degree College in Nizamabad, the Commissioner advised them to stay calm during emergencies and act responsibly as first responders. He emphasized the importance of working in coordination with various departments to ensure effective disaster management.
The volunteers shared that the field-based training enhanced their confidence and equipped them with practical skills. They expressed readiness to respond effectively during emergencies and contribute to saving lives during disaster situations.
