The massive fire accident at a furniture mall on Nampally Station Road in Hyderabad is extremely tragic, said Revenue, Housing and Information & Public Relations Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy. He expressed deep anguish over the loss of five innocent lives in the incident and assured that the state government would extend full support to the bereaved families.
The minister announced an ex-gratia of ₹5 lakh each to the families of those who lost their lives in the fire accident. He stated that clear instructions have been issued to Hyderabad District Collector Hari Chandana to take immediate steps to ensure prompt assistance to the affected families without any delay.
Preliminary investigations revealed that negligence on the part of the shop owner led to the fire accident, the minister said. The concerned individual has been taken into custody, and strict legal action will be initiated against those responsible. He further directed officials to enforce fire safety norms and safety standards rigorously to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future.
