The Andhra Pradesh Disaster Management Authority has issued a weather alert predicting moderate to heavy rainfall across several regions of the state from November 29 to December 2. Farmers and fishermen have been advised to remain vigilant and follow safety measures.
A deep depression over the Malacca Strait is expected to move northwest and intensify into a cyclone within the next few hours. Over the following 48 hours, it may further strengthen over the South Bay of Bengal. In addition, another low-pressure area is active near the Comorin region, southwest Bay of Bengal, and Sri Lanka due to upper-air circulation, which is likely to intensify within 24 hours.
Because of these systems, parts of Coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema are expected to receive widespread rainfall, with isolated heavy showers. Fishermen have been instructed not to venture into the sea from November 27 onward, and those who have already gone deep into the waters are advised to return immediately.
Officials also urged farmers to take necessary precautions in agricultural operations, as heavy rainfall is likely over the next three days.
