The Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority (APSDMA) has issued a warning that the state will experience intense heat along with scattered rains and thunderstorms on Monday. APSDMA Managing Director Prakhar Jain advised people to remain alert due to the extreme weather conditions. He reported that Nagaradona in Kurnool recorded the highest temperature of 45.4°C, with temperatures above 40°C observed in 279 mandals.
On April 20, high temperatures are likely in several districts including Palnadu, Prakasam, Markapuram, and parts of Rayalaseema. Heatwave conditions are expected in 32 mandals across multiple districts, while 17 mandals may also experience hot winds. The authority also warned of light rain with thunderstorms in some districts due to a trough effect. Citizens, especially farmers and outdoor workers, are advised to take precautions during thunderstorms and avoid sheltering under trees.
