Dr. Kiran Musunuru is a pioneer in the field of cardiovascular medicine and genome editing. Born in New York in 1976 to Dr. Koteswara Rao Musunuru, who migrated from Andhra Pradesh in 1976, he followed his father’s medical path. He has made groundbreaking contributions in lipid metabolism, heart disease prevention, and gene-based treatments. His research introduced the use of genome editing in cardiac care and explored the possibility of developing vaccines to prevent heart attacks through genetic modification.
