Telangana, once known primarily for pharmaceutical exports, is now setting new records in engineering exports. The state has achieved significant growth in exports of aerospace components, defence equipment, and industrial machinery, marking a major shift in its industrial profile.
According to the Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence and Statistics (DGCI&S) report, Telangana recorded a 117.9% growth in engineering exports between 2023–24 and 2024–25, emerging as the top performing state. Exports rose from $1,827 million in 2022–23 to $7,535 million in 2024–25, reflecting a compound annual growth rate of 103%. The state has now become the fourth-largest engineering export hub in India, driven by aerospace and defence manufacturing growth and the presence of global companies like Boeing, Airbus, Lockheed Martin, and Honeywell in Hyderabad.
