The Telangana government has credited a bonus of ₹500 per quintal into the bank accounts of farmers who cultivated fine rice varieties in the state. Officials stated that in a single day, an amount of ₹649.84 crore was released to 2,49,406 farmers.
As of Friday, a total of 11.45 lakh farmers across the state had sold 59.74 lakh tonnes of paddy to the government. Officials further informed that an overall amount of ₹13,833 crore has so far been credited to the farmers’ accounts towards paddy procurement.
