Tensions in the Gulf region are escalating again despite a ceasefire between United States and Iran, as Israel continues its attacks on Lebanon. In response, Iran has reportedly announced the closure of the Strait of Hormuz, leading to major disruptions in global shipping routes. International reports indicate that cargo vessel movement has been significantly affected due to the renewed geopolitical tensions.
According to media reports, two vessels belonging to Greece and Liberia managed to pass through the strait after the ceasefire. However, as tensions intensified again, several ships halted their journeys, with one vessel reportedly turning back near the Musandam coast. Meanwhile, cargo ships from China, including those linked to COSCO and He Rong Hai, are said to be waiting in the Persian Gulf for clearance. It remains unclear whether they have crossed the strait.
