Casting director Mukesh Chhabra has created fresh buzz around the film Dhurandhar with his latest revelation about its casting process. In a recent interaction, he revealed that three actors had rejected the role of Rehman Dakait, which was later portrayed by Akshaye Khanna. Interestingly, he mentioned that one of the actors was from the South, while the other two belonged to Bollywood, but did not disclose their names.
According to Mukesh Chhabra, the actors declined the role citing reasons such as the film being an ensemble project and primarily focused on Ranveer Singh. This revelation has now sparked widespread speculation on social media, especially regarding the identity of the South actor. While some earlier reports suggested Nagarjuna Akkineni’s name, there is no official confirmation. Meanwhile, industry insiders believe Akshaye Khanna perfectly suited the layered role, adding more curiosity and hype around the film.
