Flames of War in West Asia

Tensions in West Asia have led to a fierce war. The US and Israel launched massive air strikes targeting Iran, and in response, Iran launched counterattacks with missiles and drones against US bases in the Gulf region and Israel. These attacks, called ‘Operation Epic Fury’, severely damaged several key areas in Iran. Although international news agencies reported that some prominent military officers were killed, there was no official confirmation. Several students were reported to have lost their lives when bombs fell on a school in southern Iran. The Red Crescent said that hundreds of deaths and injuries occurred in total.

In response to the attacks, Iran launched drones and missiles against Israel and also targeted US military bases in the Gulf countries. Explosions occurred in Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and the UAE. In the wake of the war, many countries have closed their airspace and canceled flights. The world has called for restraint from both sides. Many countries, including India, have appealed for a ceasefire and talks.
