Tech giant Oracle has reportedly begun one of the biggest mass layoffs in the industry, with employees receiving termination emails early in the morning. Starting around 6 AM, several workers were informed about their job loss through emails without any prior meetings or direct communication from HR or management. This sudden and impersonal approach has raised serious concerns among employees, who described the process as highly mechanical.
With a global workforce of around 162,000, Oracle is expected to lay off nearly 20,000 to 30,000 employees, including a significant number in India. This comes amid a larger trend in the tech sector, where companies like Amazon and Meta have also carried out large-scale layoffs. Experts believe that job cuts in 2026 could intensify further as companies restructure their operations.
