Former Telangana IT Minister KTR (Kalvakuntla Taraka Rama Rao) appeared before the SIT for questioning as part of the phone tapping case investigation. Police questioned him for nearly 7 hours at the Jubilee Hills police station. After the questioning, KTR spoke to the media and made several key statements. He revealed that he himself questioned the SIT officials about the allegations that the phones of film actresses were tapped during the previous BRS government's tenure, and that they clearly stated, "There is no truth to such allegations."
He also said that he asked the SIT whether the phones of BRS leaders are currently being tapped. KTR commented that the police only said they were unaware of it, but did not deny that tapping was happening. He said this answer itself is indicative of many things. Responding to the question of whether he was questioned along with A4 Radha Kishan Rao in the case, he sarcastically remarked, "In this investigation, there is no 'Rao' other than Rama Rao." Overall, KTR clarified that he has no connection to the phone tapping affair and that he is being targeted politically.
