The lifeline of Andhra Pradesh, the Polavaram Project, will be visited by Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu tomorrow. The Chief Minister will personally inspect the progress of the construction works. On Wednesday at 10:00 AM, he will depart directly from the Camp Office by helicopter to the Polavaram site.
During the visit, the Chief Minister will inspect the project viewpoint, the coffer dam, buttress dam, ECRF Gap-1 and Gap-2 works, and also review the diaphragm wall, which has reached its final stage of construction. He will later hold a review meeting with officials at the project site and address the media.
88% of Project Construction Completed
Following delays caused by negligence during the previous government’s tenure, the Polavaram Project has gained significant momentum after the coalition government came to power. Over the past 18 months, construction has progressed by 13 percent. Overall, 87.8 percent of the project work has been completed so far.
Between 2014 and 2019, civil works accounting for 72 percent were completed. However, during the period from 2019 to 2025, less than 2 percent of the project work was carried out in five years. The current government, under the leadership of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, is working actively to compensate for the losses incurred during that period and expedite the project’s completion.
