The Central Consumer Protection Authority (CCPA) has issued a strict warning to hotels and restaurants across the country. It clarified that adding extra charges in bills under the name of LPG or fuel costs is an unfair practice. The authority stated that strict action will be taken against establishments that impose such unjustified charges on customers. It also emphasized the need for transparency in billing and urged businesses to stop misleading practices.
Customers who notice such charges can immediately file a complaint by calling the 1915 helpline. Officials advised consumers to keep a copy of the bill as proof while raising complaints.
The CCPA reiterated that these measures are aimed at protecting consumer rights and encouraged the public to stay alert.
