

The Telangana government presented its ₹3,24,234 crore annual budget for the financial year 2026–27 in the Assembly, with Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka tabling the budget. The government allocated ₹2,34,406 crore for revenue expenditure and ₹47,267 crore for capital expenditure, focusing on welfare, infrastructure, and development. Major allocations include ₹23,179 crore for agriculture, ₹21,285 crore for the power sector, ₹26,674 crore for education, and ₹13,679 crore for health. Significant funds were also earmarked for irrigation (₹22,615 crore), Panchayati Raj (₹33,688 crore), municipal administration (₹17,907 crore), and roads & buildings (₹12,789 crore).
The government also announced several welfare initiatives, including the launch of the Indiramma Family Life Insurance Scheme from June 2, offering ₹5 lakh coverage to 1.15 crore families. Under the Cheyutha scheme, pensions will be extended to 2 lakh new beneficiaries. Social welfare allocations include ₹11,784 crore for SC welfare, ₹7,937 crore for ST welfare, ₹12,511 crore for BC welfare, and ₹3,769 crore for minority welfare. Other highlights include ₹6,000 crore for Rajiv Yuva Vikasam, ₹7,430 crore for housing, ₹3,490 crore for industries, and ₹1,224 crore for tourism. Additionally, unemployed youth undergoing training will receive a monthly stipend of ₹2,000, while ₹100 crore has been allocated for Gurukul hostel kitchen repairs.
