The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has taken significant action in connection with a money laundering investigation in Mumbai by attaching properties allegedly linked to Salim Fruit, the brother-in-law of gangster Chhota Shakeel. The attached assets include the Lambath Building in the Dongri area of South Mumbai. The agency has also attached properties and bank balances worth approximately ₹4 crore held in the name of Salim Fruit’s wife.
According to the allegations, Salim Fruit and his associates allegedly used the name of the Dawood gang to threaten people and take control of properties. Investigators suspect that forged documents were used in these transactions. The latest action is part of the ED’s ongoing probe into the alleged illegal acquisition of assets and money laundering.
