With England cricketer Ben Duckett withdrawing from the IPL, it appears likely that he will face a two-year ban. Duckett, who was scheduled to play for the Delhi Capitals this season, announced his withdrawal from the tournament citing personal reasons. He stated that he took this decision in order to prepare for England's upcoming Test series.
However, according to IPL regulations, if a player is selected in the auction and subsequently withdraws from the tournament, a two-year ban is imposed. No exceptions are granted for reasons other than injury or medical grounds. Consequently, Duckett now faces the prospect of missing the 2027 and 2028 IPL seasons.
