NASA has successfully carried out its prestigious Artemis 2 mission, aiming to send humans back to the Moon after nearly 50 years. The spacecraft was launched from Florida on April 1 and reached very close to the Moon on April 6, coming within about 4,000 miles and surpassing the record set by Apollo 13.
The mission is now on its return journey to Earth. NASA shared an important update stating that the astronauts have reached halfway back to Earth. According to the latest information, the spacecraft is expected to land in the Pacific Ocean around 8:07 PM on Friday.
To ensure a safe landing, a recovery ship has been positioned in the Pacific Ocean. Before landing, around 11 parachutes will deploy to slow down the spacecraft. Following the success of this mission, NASA is preparing for the next step, Artemis 3, which aims to land humans directly on the Moon.
